ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Karen Porzio was born and raised in Milford, Massachusetts. She is married to Russ, her love of 42 years. She has 4 children, 2 grandchildren and has had many pets, (8 dogs, 2 birds, tree frogs, and newts). Karen recently retired from a Fortune 500 corporation and held many leadership positions over her 44-year career. She has travelled extensively for her career as a global leader and has visited 21 of the 50 states in the US, and 27 countries in 5 of the 7 continents.
In her career, she held leadership roles in operations, procurement, quality, compliance, planning, customer service, and digital transformation. Karen’s most important role was mentoring and guiding her teams to succeed. Her success in leadership was recognized by the corporation she worked for leading to 2 leadership excellence awards.
Karen is an avid reader and some of her favorite authors are Diana Gabaldon, Nelson DeMille, Tom Clancy and J.K. Rowling. The number of books she has read is in the hundreds of all different genres. This love of reading has driven her desire to share her wide breadth of experiences by using her creativity to write books. One of Karen’s strengths is being a mentor, so sharing her experiences and knowledge to help others learn and grow is a passion of hers.
Cooking is also a passion of Karen’s. She loves to cook holiday meals for family and entertain her friends. She has planned many functions for family events such as graduations and weddings. In fact, she planned two of her sons weddings and her daughter’s wedding inspiring her to write “The Perfect Wedding: Make Your Own Dreams Come True.” Karen is working on a cookbook and will release that soon.
Karen wants to try to write in different genres such as business, DIY, and children’s stories. She has had a unique and interesting life so far and wants to share her experiences and learnings. Writing is new to her, so she is very interested in hearing your honest feedback. She feels that feedback is a gift and will use your feedback to improve her stories.
